A Google Interview Warmup alternative for spoken practice
If you used Google Interview Warmup and want spoken practice with feedback today, Just One Interview is an independent alternative. You choose a role and skills for an AI led practice round, answer generated questions aloud, then review the report and coaching feedback. Google retired Interview Warmup in April 2026, and the former URL now redirects to other Google career pages.

What happened to Google Interview Warmup?
The former Google Interview Warmup URL no longer opens the original practice tool. It redirects to other Google career pages, and the page you reach can differ by location. You may see career advice or a regional Grow with Google page.
Google introduced the original tool as a way to answer interview questions aloud and review insights from those answers. That description is still available in the official Google launch post.
It was always a website that ran in a browser, on a phone as well as a laptop. Google never released it as an app for the Play Store or the App Store, so treat any app that now uses the name with care. There is no new official Interview Warmup site.
What kinds of questions did it ask?
The tool mixed three kinds of question: background questions about your experience, situational questions about how you would handle something, and technical questions tied to a field. Any practice set worth using should cover all three. These prompts follow the same style:
- Background. Walk me through the work you are proudest of in the last year.
- Behaviour. Tell me about a time you had to fix a mistake before anyone else noticed.
- Situation. A customer rejects your first answer. What do you say next?
- Field. Explain one tool or method you use every week, as you would to a new colleague.
Can Just One Interview replace it for practice?
Just One Interview can cover the main need of speaking through an interview answer and trying again. It is an independent alternative with its own features and account flow.
The useful question is whether the current flow helps you rehearse. In Just One Interview, Practice is separate from The One, which is the recorded mode. You can choose Practice when you want to work on delivery before deciding what to do next.

How can you start spoken practice today?
Start by choosing the role and skills you want to rehearse. You can also set a duration and paste a job description when it would help the practice round reflect a specific opportunity.
- Write down two examples that show the skills you selected.
- Keep three cue words for each example so you can recall the facts without reading a script.
- Answer each generated question without stopping to edit every sentence.
- After the round, read the report and choose one change for your next rehearsal.

Can you practise free, or on a phone?
Yes to both. The free plan includes 20 minutes of practice a month, with a report and coaching feedback after each round. Without any tool, you can still answer one question aloud, record it on your phone, and check it for evidence, order and relevance.
Practice runs in a phone browser with nothing to install. Allow the microphone when the browser asks; the camera is optional for Practice. Find a quiet spot, prop the phone up rather than holding it, and use earphones with a microphone if the room is noisy.
What should you listen for?
Listen for evidence, order, and relevance. A polished tone cannot rescue an answer that never explains what you did, while a simple answer can work well when it gives the listener enough detail to judge your part.
- Evidence. Name the event, your action, and what changed because of it.
- Order. Put the main point near the start, then add the details needed to support it.
- Relevance. Answer the question asked rather than reciting a prepared introduction.
- Specific language. Replace broad claims with one decision, task, or result that the listener can follow.
Do not try to memorise a perfect paragraph. Use a short answer shape and keep the facts true. A simple shape works for most questions: what happened, what you did, and what changed because of it.
What should you know before opening Just One Interview?
Practice and The One are separate modes. For rehearsal, use Practice and set the role, skills, and duration. Add a job description if you want the generated questions to reflect it, then review the report after the round.
